Emmisions Headers

I was just about to buy myself a new set of headers when i saw that not all headers(pacesetter) are made to ork with catalized systems. i did though, find a set of flowtechs that were for those systems. does it matter if the headers are/aren't made for catalized systems? if so, should i also buy a new y-pipe and cat? both sets say they will bolt to stock equip.

long tubes will require modifications up to the y-pipe/cat (whichever you have up front). either way long tubes wont affect the cats because the cats on our trucks are after the y-pipe or sometimes are the y-pipe. but long tubes sometimes have issues with the way they fit in the engine bay. shorty tube headers are just straight up bolt ons(at least for the most part they are) and dont affect anything except how the engine oil dipstick tube mounts.
