86 f150, 302..(EFI) Help Or Im Gonna Kill It!
Well I've got ANOTHER problem. The latest..... it gets warm it dies. The last 2 out of 3 times it did this i got about a mile. Both times it wouldnt crank up right afterwards... let it sit overnight came back, it cranked. It used to never to do this while running, it just wouldnt start after sitting a while, it would turn over and over, you would walk away for an hour or a day and it would crank right up and drive and start fine for months, now we have entered another realm of problem it seems.
Lately Ive had the ignition module, and coil replaced. When it was the first version of the problem I had the dist cap replaced as well. My mechanic doesnt seem to think that its a fuel system problem because it will start right up and and run fine then die only after it gets warm. Im not so sure.. what the hell could be causing this? Lately it seems to only have problems AFTER it has run or idled to operating temp. Any ideas? Im about to sell this damn thing and get something newer but I love these trucks and dont wanna do it just yet. HEEEEEEEEELP!

well it shows 64, which is most likely 164,000, has far as the grease no idea, but i will run it by my mechanic. thanks
The ignition failure when hot is symptomatic of a TFI (thin-film ignition) module failure on the later trucks. I don't know squat about an '86, does it have the TFI module or something else?
