ok guys, i just bought a 82 f100 and it has a 4.9 in it, with 212,000 miles. it runs great, except im getting alot of oil, and air coming out of the oil fill cap. i dont know why? and thought i would ask in here, because you guys know alot more than i do. if this is a simple fix, i will fix it , but i have a friend with a good 4.9 , that i can replace mine with. and just so you know this truck was owned by a older couple, and has no rust, and thats really unbelievable, for the great state of indiana.

 

Do the plugs look oil-fouled?

If they're OK, simply change the PCV valve.
