80 F250 tire question

My brother just got an 80 F250 4X4. Just wondering what size tire will fit without any lift. Thanks for the help.

Surely someone on here knows this. The only reason I'm asking is I have a set of 285/75 16's but I'm not sure if they will clear on the front. Thanks in advance for the help.

Maybe 33's? Guessing a stock F250 sits around as high as my 150 on a 4 inch lift, and cleared 33's no problem... just normal rubbing at full lock on the radius arm.

33" is a 285/75R16

Yes they will fit.
They are a lot wider than the standard 235-85R16's that came form the factory by only about 2 inches. If you have factory 16.5" wheels they are too narrow for 33x12.5 16.5's

I recomend you consider a wider 16" wheel. They could possibly rub, but with a wider wheel and a different offest you can control this.

Long story short.. yes you can get them to fit without any type of lift.

If you want the height without a wider wheel you can get the same height with a 255/85R16, although they are only available in a load range D.

Thanks guys. All he has is a Set of the factory 16 inch steel wheels. I already let him take the tires, hopefully they will fit alright.
