Fuel rail disconect tool

Next question I need to disconect the fuel rail. I have removed the clips my book says to use speacial tool required to seperate. I did'nt trust the ones on display at Auto Zone. I have never disconected the fuel rail before and do not want to break the fittings.

Truck is 91 F150 I6 auto 2 W/dr

The AutoZoo ones work as well as any others, which is to say not very well at all. The garter spring connector works like a Chinese finger puzzle; the more you pull on it the tighter it gets. The "trick" is to push the connector together as you try to insert the tool. This takes the pre-load off the garter spring and allows the tool to slip in eventually. I've found extreme amounts of profanity also quite useful. Be sure to dump the fuel pressure at the Schrader valve on the fual rail before you attempt to disconnect anything. Good luck.

The two screw driver method works for me.. with a little less profanity... Your better off to curse at it first then do it !!

well I gave it the evil eye a little yesterday but it was'nt intimidated, tried a couple screwdrivers briefly but was afraid to use much force.
Thanks for the advice.

Auto Zone has a couple tools / a Plastic set and 2 anodised aluminums depending on sise. They all say for A/C lines and or fuel line quick disconect. I am guessing that they all work the same. I was woried about buying the wrong tool and breaking something trying to use it.
