Good to go!
While your down there, take a look at the other gasket,it's probably loose and on it's way out.

I want to thank everyone for their input. I really appreciate it.

I checked the other connection while I was there and it was about to go, also.

I got on it hard the other day and it "hiccuped" misfired or something at about 5000R and I think that's what blew the gaskets. Got to check the plugs now and make sure everything else is OK.

I'm not sure i think we have a rev limiter around 5 grand.Mine does the same thing when i hold the gear too long.( it breaks up or floats the valves)

Thumbs up

Now that I have fixed the "tick" I have noticed a weird sound around 5000. I agree with you, it must be some kind of rev limitor. That sucks because my truck is still pulling hard at 5. Which also tells me that a lower gear is a bad idea for this truck. Pisses me off. I'm to the point of looking for a mustang. Easier to find performance parts for along with being much lighter.

Fadex,
I'm gonna go to the engine section and ask if anyone knows if we have a rev limiter on our engines. There must be some kind of way to bypass the limiter.
