I don't have the answer to your question ,but you may be able to help me. I have a 92 F-150 with 35x12.5 tires and I keep on blowing the orginal 8.8 rear out . I was wondering since you are running bigger tires then me you might have the same probelm . If you are what did you do to fix it.

you say you had no luck with spring spacers, you mean you couldnt find 2" ones or they didint work? coil spacers are the only thing i could think of. i know a good friend of mine had a similar problem as you (79 F-150) and what he did is that he bought springs for a 1 ton truck and put them in. they gave him an additional 1" of clearance(that was with leaf springs though, you could look into it to see if maybe you can do something similar with the coil springs). good luck!
