Post K&N FIPK

I am wanting to add a K&N FIPK to my truck. Not just the filter, but the whole injector performance kit.

Can anyone comment on the performance increases of this kit?

Are there any competing kits out there that are better?

Thanks again,
-Mike

Hi Mike,

For the F-trucks, there are a few kits out there, but they all gain the same amount of power, or very close to it, nobody has a real power advantage there.

In fact, the F-150 Online Store carries all of those various brands, and if you give them a call at 916-361-2510, they can give you all the specific details for your specific truck.

You don't mention which truck you have now, and I can't remember anymore (good to see you again, by the way!) but since this is posted in the pre-97 section, you probably have either a 5.0 or a 5.8 motor. The 5.0's gain about 12 horsepower from an airbox elimination kit, and the 5.8's pick up about 14-15 horsepower.

Good luck!

Howdy, Mike.

Was about to buy a 2002 F-350 diesel today, but backed out. Too expensive. :-) Going to have to make the F-150 pull the horses another couple of years, then buy a used 7.3...

Thanks for the information on the FIPK. I might be interested in a chip for this truck as well. A '91 F-150 with 5.0 and AOD.

Best regards,
-Mike
