Can anybody figure out the VIN code for my 1989 F150? - I don't have my book from Helm yet and I don't even know what size motor it has - It looks like a 302 but I'm Kinda Stupid........ Thanks

 

Hey DennisOdom. The 8th number in your VIN will show what engine you have. For the 302 cu.in./5.0 liter(4942cc), it'll be an N code. If you need help reading the whole VIN #, just post it and someone here will help you break it down. Enjoy this site!

What kind of millage can I really expect to get with this truck... It is all stock with a 302 (i guess) with 4 wheel drive and an automatic transmission with overdrive... (i am the slowest driver you've ever been stuck behind - meaning I dont hot rod any more)

 

my dad has a 89 F150 4X4 5.0 AOD 3.55 gears and 235/75/15 tires. He drives 65 and gets 19-21 mpg. in overdrive

Mine's a 96 reg cab 4x4 302 AOD 3.55 and I get between 18-19 highway doing about 75. I get about 15 city.
