battered bed replacement?
the bed on my 93 F150 regular cab has seen better days (inside of bed and tailgate are pretty beat up and the wheelwells are rusted pretty badly in spots) and i was wondering if it would be possible to replace it with the bed from a newer model F150. I've got a line on a brand new bed from a '99 F250 but want to know if this would be a pretty straightforward swap or if there would be complications i'm not aware of to this swap.
A local body shop quoted me a price of $1200 to repair the wheel wells and if i'm going to be spending that kind of money i'd rather just spend a bit more (if necessary) and replace the whole bed. So whadya say folks... am i heading down the wrong path or might this swap out be the way to go?
Thanks in advance.

wolf189, any bed from 92 thru 96 will fit your truck and there are a lot of them out there for sale for about the same price as fixing yours. I just bought a 95 short box for my 82 for $1150 complete with tailgate and taillights. Check MY PARTSHOP .COM

The bed from the 99 F250 is completely different than your 93. Unless you are trying to be different, I wouldn't even attempt it. You should be able to get a bed from an F150 fairly readily that will be the same body style as yours - a lot of flatbeds out there with unused beds. I'm not sure how bad the damage is, but my suggestion would be to just get a bedliner so that you won't see the dings. It will onlyu cost you about $100 and you won't be putting a ton of money into a truck that isn't super valuable.
