It sounds like the right place & they may have started using the special clips later on. Be sure the lines have clamps you can loosen with a screwdriver or pliers. I pull the fuel pump fuse & start it to relieve pressure-it will only run a couple of seconds.

Where is the beastie? Judging by the replacement filter, I'm thinking its on the driver's frame rail, just as it starts to incline towards the motor. The other stuff looks like switches for the dual tanks. It doesn't seem to have the special clips on it either. AND how do you relive the fuel pressure (its EFI)?
