broken bolt..HELP!!

Post broken bolt..HELP!!

I broke a @#%&*@ bolt while putting on my water pump. it was the one that also helps hold up the air conditioner asembly also. it snapped right where the threads start so the is about an inch or so of it in there...can it be drilled out or what???

Whenever I break bolts, first I would try to weld a nut on the end of the bolt thats sticking out. If not you can buy bolt removers at a auto store. These are called easy outs. you will need to drill a hole in there, then tap the easy out in, then get a vise grip on there and turn it out. The instructions are more clear in the package. hope this helps

An easy out should do it for you. The logic in this doesn't make sense but they usually work.

Worst case if the easy out doesn't work is to carefully drill it out and re-tap to a new bolt size.
