Cool Two More Questions

You guys were very helpful with our previos problem, now I got a new one. Yesterday, after the oil/filter change (Castrol 10w-30 and Motorcraft respectively), I noticed the oil pressure guage was on low (1/4 way up) and upon driving/loading it, it would not go up, let alone fluctuate. Even rev'ing it in neutral didn't make the PSI go up. I am thinking the pressure sensor is bad, but where is it? I know on Chevys they are either on the top, back of the block or above the oil filter. Did Ford do the same, above the oil filter?

Also, I think I almost have my Father convinced to get shorty headers for his 302. What would be a good choice? It is all stock, except for the Gibson 3" exhaust and a cone filter (soon to be K&N FIPK). I was thinking of either MACs (I have them on my '94 Z and they're great) or the ones seen in Summit for ~$160.

Thanks for any responses, especially on the sensor issue.

The oil pressure gauge is a flaw. It's a simple 'idiot light' made into a gauge. It either shows that one position, or zero. Guess Ford saved a few bucks there.
I heard the Summit headers are ok.

Ok, does anyone know where that Ford diesel truck website is (mentioned in that thread) to convert to a "real" gauge? BTW, where is the sender, still need that info? I am going try to make it into a real gauge.

Thumbs up

http://www.ford-diesel.com/contents/...essure%20Gauge Here is the thread on the gauge conversion itself. I don't have my Chilton's handy, so I can't tell you were the sending unit is(maybe someone else has that info). The site is Ford-Diesel.com..Hope this helps!

And I thought that my engine was gradually loosing oil pressure over the last 125,000 miles. Now you are telling me that I have been watching the resistor loose it resistance over time. I feel like an idiot light
