Post stalling

I have a 96 f-150 super cab 2wd with a 302, 4R70W, 3.55 rear end. Just after it started getting realy cold up here in MI I have had the truck stall when exiting the highway. It happens when I have to slow down form 70 to 0 fast. It does not seem to matter which tank I am running and everything has been tuned up recently. Under normal conditions it runs just fine. Any suggestions?

Might be the butterfly or the idle air control valve (more likely) sticking due to the cold.

It might be bad gas. A lot of gass gets condensation in it in the winter. I installed a water seperator from a nearby farm machiinery dealer. I now have no problems.

Well I found the problem. It was the computer for the transmission needed to be reprogramed. The shutter was coming from a lock-up problem in the transmission cause the truck to stall. There is a service bullitin on this problem. Happy the problem is fix but out nearly $200.
