1985 ford f150 fuel issue...help ASAP please

I just got a 1985 F150 4.9 straight 6 300. and it was sitting for about a year. I got it running but its dumping way to much fuel in the carb. It is splashing every where and leaking etc etc. Is there something I could adjust? Or would a rebuild kit take care of this? I think something may be stuck open or something. let me know
thanks

It sounds like it's time to rebuild the carb unless the leaking is restricted to the fuel line feeding the carb.

Tune up, timing, compression test and did you adjust/tune the carb after you rebuilt it?-- You probably need to.
