Angry Fuel Pump Replacement

I have come to the realization that I need to replace the front fuel pump. I have also been told that I should replace both if I am going to replace one of them. What am I looking at time and cost wise? Has anyone done this yet? I know I should remove the bed and go from the top, but what all is involved? Has anyone used beefier aftermarket pumps? I don't even know where to start. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

The in-tank fuel pumps are supposed to be about 200$ each. Installation should be easy. I was at a wrecker the other day and took out the pump out of a tank they had lying around there. Take the hoses and cables off, open the ring that keeps the thing in place and take it out. Seemed easy enough on an isolated tank with everything just cut off.
