Post Fuel Filter Warning

Concerning Fseries fuel filters,

Make sure the correct one is used during replacement. There are 2 types , 1 with short and 1 with long nipples.

If you use the short one it will work just fine until it needs replacing. There will be no room to insert the special tool and you will have to cut the filter off which is no fun with fuel spraying all over the place.

Mine was replaced many years ago by a tune up place and yes , they used the wrong one.
My local mechanic did it for me. A 2hr job and believe me , he was soaked in gasoline.

I can fully understand the agravation !!!

I had the same problem but mine came from the factory like that. The first time I got a bath, the second time I used th old stand by and read the directions.
You should relive the preasure first before attempting to remove the filter.
There will still be a mess but at least it won't spray all over the place.
