Post Replacement Battery

If you ever need to replace your battery get this one from Auto Zone. (No I dont work for them).

The "Duralast-Gold" 34DT-DGS fits my F-150 and it has A THREE YEAR FREE REPLACEMENT. This is much more that anyone else. Made by Johnston Controls.

According to battery information you should buy the battery that offers the longest free replacement because they couldnt offer free replacement unless they were very well made.

Johnson Controls also makes many other brands of batteries like DieHard etc. But the Duralast is the only battery with three year free replacement. Not prorated.

Check out the web site Johnson Controls.

Pastmaster: The CCA depends on the model you get. The particular model I referenced has cranking amps of 935 and CCA of 750, with a three year free replacement.

Isn't there some rule about getting a battery sized according to your engine size? Thought I'd seen that in a Chilton's...

Hello Mike: Yes, you need to get the highest CCA in the size that will fit in your battery box. When you get ready, open your hood and sketch your battery with the plus and minus post and measure the size, height, depth, and width. Be sure to indicate where the two post are located.

Also most suppliers have charts that will show the normal replacement battery number.

If you let the store install your new battery then you dont need to make a sketch.

Also, visit http://www.johnsoncontrols.com

There is a lot of battery information there.

Cool

As a rough guide, go with twice the engine displacement in c.i. Example, a 302 would require roughly a 604 cca battery. Any more cca's and the battery will last longer and not have to work as hard. Any smaller, and it won't last as long and will work harder.

Remember, it's just a rough guide. A little smaller won't hurt, and bigger is always better.
