Post 302 FI Throttle stop

I have a '86 302 FI F150, does anyone know the proper setting for the throttle stop on the throttle body? The screw isnt even touching the lever on mine, and cold weather idling sucks, the book says it isnt an idle screw so it must be just a stop for holding the butterflys open a specific amount. But how much?

Well, mine is a 93, but still should be? the same. Yeah, it is called a throttle plate set screw and does exactly what you described, even though my Chiltons says no adjustment also. I went out to my truck and measured, from where the screw comes through the plate and immediately through some type of nut. From where it comes through the nut to the other plate, mine was exactly 1/4". Hope that helps.......

the screw may not be touching the lever becuse the throtle bores are dirty and holding the throtle open, this could also cause idling problems. i would remove the throtle body if you find that it does need to be cleaned mainly becuse you shoud remove the tps at the bottom of the throtle body otherwise the cleaner could dammage it.
