Question Timing Troubles

I've been posting about the 94, 302 that was pinging. Well it was in the shop, getting some body work done, so we ran some diagnostics on it. It didn't show any codes, the only thing wrong was the timing, at idle the computer advanced the timing to 16, it is set at 10 with the jumper removed. When accelerated, the timing jumps even hire. I'm wondering what could be causing the computer to advance the timing that much? All sensors came up clean on the test, I'm wondering maybe something is wrong with the ignition module?

Is it advancing high with or without the spout connector in?

It is advancing with the spout in, normal operation. I've been told that it will fluctuate while running. I'm not really following anything I've been told about timing. I know it should be at 10 with the spout out, but with it in, it runs high.

I think its supposed to do that? I advanced mine to 14 without, and it set the timing about 6-7 above that. The higher the rpm the higher the timing.
