Question New Shocks?

I have a 1996 F-150 2WD with a 302. When I hit small quick bumps I hear a rattling or loose knocking sound from somwhere in the left front. Is this somthing as simple as worn shocks or bushings (56k miles), or something more complicated? I would like your thoughts before I buy the shocks. Thanks -- Martin Kellner

PS -- What brand of shocks would be best for SLIGHTLY increased heighth and payload?

MW, I'm sorry I don't have an answer, but I have a 96 F150, also, but a 4x4, and I have the same nise you are speaking of, a clunk clunk over small quick bumps, doesn't happen all the time, but it sure is annoying, I was thinking it may be the bushings on the tracking arm.

Several years ago I had to replace the coil holders because the front end sat too low, and made the thing rattle like hell. Might check on that.
