Post Shocks

Planning the installation of new shocks. I'm at a crossroads--do I want to stick with Ford shocks (get their heavy-duty shocks) or do I want to get another manufacturer's product?

Sears has Gabriel heavy duty shocks. I know Bilsteins are supposed to be good--don't know where to get them locally.

I need heavy duty shocks, not standard, for my 4x2.

Suggestions?

Thanks

One local shock shop has Rancho 5000s in stock for $49.95 installed.

Inputs on using these with a 4x2?

Mike--I would stay away from Rancho's, I have heard that they are quite ruff riddin, and I am not sure that Factory shocks would last long, with your towing, etc...

Whatever you get, make sure you have a lifetime warrantee, especially if you plan to keep this truck!!!

My personal favorite is Bilstein's, excellent ride...

I like a rough ride... The thing that attracts me to the Ranchos is that they have an adjustable ride quality (RS9000). I was thinking about going with RS5000s up front, and putting the 9000s on back--so that I could firm them up when I hitch up to my trailer....

Sound reasonable??
