The 3.08 rear is a bit slow off the line, but on the interstate w/ overdrive there is no problem with speed. The one thing I do like about the 3.08 is that with a load or trailer and on a on a really steep interstate hill I can drop it in 3rd gear and cruise at 65 and only be turning 3300 or so RPM. I only have to do this on STEEP hills or with a heavy trailer. I am interested to know how much better a 3.55 rear is for pulling. I am considering swapping to a 3.55 or 3.73, but I am wondering if I would still have to drop gears on steep hills. If I would still have to drop gears I'd just as soon stick with the 3.08 and have road speed.

I have gotton 22mpg. The guy who had the truck before me claimed he had 24 on a trip.
