Recently went to tech article section of f150online.com and
found where a guy had fabricated a homemade, but functional, air
intake modification similar to K&N's FIPK...using a K&N conical
filter and part of the old stock airbox. Really interesting. Anyone
out there with a 300 I-6 done the same thing? Just curious. The
mad scientist cogs are turnin' in my head after reading that tech
article. Surely this could be done on my beast for much less than
the $160 F&N FIPK, and the stock K&N drop-in filter for my engine
doesn't look like it would do much to improve engine's
breath-ability. Any feedback welcome/appreciated. If I get the
mad scientist bug this weekend and come up with something, I'll
