Mass air conv. 92 F150??

Hey I was looking at some old posts on mass air coversions.

I have a friend with a 92 4x4 F150 with a 5.0. He want to do a mass air conversion. He found a 95 2wd F150 5.0 in the junkyard. If he gets all the wiring,comp,mass air,bap sensor,and such will this work?

Unless I am missing some special exceptions, the 95 is not mass air. 96 and up had OBDII and mass air. Did you look at the one in the salvage yard? If it is a mass air equipped vehicle, then you are on the right track.

I've seen a mass air 5.8L in a 95 F150(build date in late 94, sept IIRC). I took the intake tube(2 tb tubes into 1 3 inch tube) setup to use in my frankentake. The sensors and harness and comp were already gone, or else I would have done this too.

Could it be done? Sure. Just rewire all kinds of crap, make sure you find the right truck with matching tranny, pay money for the stuff you need, spend countless hours making sure it is right, and so on.

Or for a lot less money, just build what you want and get a custom tune for the current speed density system.

I have a '95 4x4 302 with mass air, but if it was speed density I wouldn't spend the money to swap it.
