pcv valve?

guys i have a 95 f150 300 I6 i changed the location of the pcv valve to the front hole and plugged off the back hole.then it started blowing the dipstick up so i realized that was a stupid mistake so i switched it back.i am not running the staock air filter box so i dont have that air tube going to it.i lost alot of oil.my question is does it matter which hole in the valve cover the pcv valve is in i was looking at making it easier to get to but i guess that wont work.thanks guys

Why would you need it easier to get at. It's not like you change it with every oil change or something. It's not that hard to get at it.
