Turning then clunk

Well i have a feeling that my loose steering wheel is getting worse, when turning the wheel all the way to the right i hear a clunk , then turning to the left its ok, its kinda like some 1 is under there banging it with a rubber malet, what could cause this loud clunking noise, i dont have anyone to turn the wheel for me yet but opinion would be great.

Power steering pump going bad or maybe the steering box? Something down there. My steering is loose too but not really a sound when i turn all the way to the left or right. Might wana get under there soon. Maintence is cheaper than repair buddy.

Could be a ball joint as well.

Jack the truck up and put it on a stand. grab the bottom and top of the tire and push and pull the top and bottom against vertical. If you got movement, you got ball joint problems. Mine was doing the same thing till I put new ones in.

But it could be other things as well, your just going to have check out the steering linkage or have it checked out, to know for sure.
