Turned those rotors!!

I turned my rotors this weekend. Man was that a job! Had fun packing that grease though! They gave me the wrong back seal for the rotors at orilleys so had to reuse the old ones. They werent too bad. I guess my question is was it bad to reuse the bearings? They didnt have any discoloration and after some gas and a whole roll of paper towels everything was grease free and spinning well. Rotors are on teh last leg though. Oh well not gonna be a problem for awhile!

Bearings can be reused and should last for the life of the vehicle, as long as there's no damage and they roll freely.

One of the easiest ways to damage a bearing is to spin-dry them using compressed air.

Packing the grease back in to the bearings is a very messy job. There are packing tools available, but have never used them.

Never thought that the packing tools do a good a job as I could by hand.

You use the tool and then finish off by hand - it's a lot quicker and not as messy.
