'93... Tach?

Howdy! I have a '93 F150 and am interested in installing a factory tachometer. What year models would work in my truck. Mine originally did not have a tach so I imagine I'll have to swap all the instrument clusters. Thanks for any and all help!

Swap in a '92-93 tach cluster from a gas Fseries or Bronco. If you can't find one locally, I have one.

But before you put it in, you might be interested in making the oil pressure gauge REALLY work, &/or adding a low-fuel light. Click my black Bronco below & look in the Low Fuel Light album.

Thanks for the info! May I ask another question about this project... will I need to add anything to my truck in order for the tach to work or is the wiring already there, just not being utilized since there is no tach? Did that make sense ?

you can put your own tach in also just run the power wire(red) to the battery the light wire(white) to the fuse box and the green wire to the ignition coil

Yeah, there's not much to it, but a stock one is easier & looks better.

So will the "new" cluster have my current mileage on it, or will it have the mileage of the truck I take it out of?

That depends on you. If you put your old PSOM into the "new" cluster...

Thanks

It looks like it just pops out, I will have to see how many miles are on the donor.
