87-91 parts/upgrades/sites?
Anyone know of any sites with upgrade/aftermarket parts, even just generic truck stuff and possibly forums more tuned in to our 87-91s? This site is great for the most part, but it seems to be lacking in our favor a bit.
J420N,
LMCtruck.com has hundreds of parts for our older 1980-1996 F150s. They publish four catalogs a year of about 150 pages each. You can get just about any part you need (engine, wheels, weatherstripping, gas tanks, speedometers, fender badges, ...). You can also call them and have them send you the FD catalog. The new one came out yesterday. I have bought many things from them. They have good service. They also have about 40 other specialized catalogs for other trucks and cars. LMC is always my #1 choice.

For engine parts and accessories there is also summit. I have been happy with them.

There is also "ford parts on line". They have many parts. However they list parts they don't have! I bought a non-existent part from them only to later get any email and my money back. They are NOT part of Ford Motor Co.

Also there is Blue Oval Truck Parts. They have some things for our vehicles. They are more oriented toward the '30 - '70 trucks. I have not used them.

For rear sliding windows you can peruse CR Laurence. You can get clear or tinted, three or four panel, manual or power rear windows. They are the manufacturer of that all the suppliers sell.

Ford, MotorCraft, and Ford racing all have a web presence. I don't have their URLs.
There is also your local ford dealer. Many of the parts in our cars were used until 1996, so they are still stocked. I always bring a printout of the page from "ford parts on line". The dealer will match the lower "ford parts on line" price.
I also use the local "pick-ur- part" wrecking yard. They seem to have about 20-30 hulks of our vintage.
I have a huge speed/racing shop (PAW) just down the street. They have several varieties of any engine or tranny part. They are a catalog only place. The ford book is huge. I think the Ford catalog is $6. You can buy it over the phone at (818)678-3000. I don't know the 800 phone number.
If you have a specific part in mind, post a message. I have many more specialized company listings. If you live in Los Angeles several local sources.
I have always easily found whatever I have needed, except the infamous "white vacuum line" that controls the defrost door!
Good luck,
Lance
P.S.
I have been restoring my '89 Lariat standard cab, long bed. I've bought many parts, some hard to find. My supplier list is large just ask if you have a specific need.
P.P.S.
My restore is just about done. More than two years of work behind me. All the underhood work is done, save an MSD box and a tune up. I had custom red and grey leather bucket seats made. I upholstered the door panels to match. I added a third brake light inside my cargo light. I added an alarm, remote entry, 460 air intake insulated from the grill to the throttle body, all sorts of boring mechanical stuff, and lots of other stuff.
All I have left is the removal of the old running boards, new paint (next year), sound proofing behind the seats and the roof, MSD box, and a Lo-Pro Truxedo.
