Headliner removal
Is it easy to remove then reinstall the headliner?
If so how is it done? Will just removing the trim parts and dome light do it?
Does removing the headliner destroy it?
I am in the process of soundproofing my '89 XLT Lariat standard cab. The soundproofing and heatproofing above the headliner would be the last step.

It's easy. Pull all of the trim that touches the headliner, the visors, the dome lamp, & the visor hooks. There might be a plastic pushpin retainer over each door, but you can leave them & just lift the headliner off them. It comes out easily as a big sheet of fiberglass-reinforced styrofoam.
