Talking ABS light and driver door problems

any suggestions on how to check why the abs light is on other than a trip to the dreaded stealer dealer?

Also the driver side door has gotten tough to close.
Have to slam the crap out of it to get it shut all the way.
Checked and it isn't loose or anything in it stopping it.

Click my signature link & look in the Doors album, and read this caption.

Where in TN are you?

******EDIT****
I don't know why I had airbag on the brain, but it's fixed now.

They can't scan airbag codes, and you don't need a scanner to count the flashes anyway.

*****EDIT*****
Duuuuuuhhhh... ABS not airbag!

But they can't scan ABS codes, either.

Search for "OBDI paperclip"

You can get codes by counting CEL flashes after jamming a paperclip between two of the connector's terminals.

The door on my truck is like that too, I haven't really given it much thought.

The CEL won't show ABS codes. The proper technique is described in the caption of the (correct) diagram above.
