That's pretty good for a 15-year-old TTB.

It is finally done! I realize the "small" amount of play was not all that bad for 15 years old, but I have replaced almost every front end part - so it is relatively "new".

I am posting this so others can "use" my experience...

The end result was the new gear box was not properly adjusted. I ended up turning the adjusting screw about 1/2 turn - about 1/8 turn at a time. I would adjust it and drive it for a few miles and then try again. It now has zero play in it and still returns to center after a turn.

To make sure it was the gear box, I had someone turn the wheel back and forth (the amount of play) with the engine off. I got under and watched all the front end components. The play was all in the gear box.

Thanks again for all the help. I am learning allot about these things as I go!

Jim
