Very Rough idling

Hey fellas I have 1995 Ford F150 with 150k miles, i noticed yesterday after going through some mud holes, nothing major just enough to get the under-body and tires muddy. Anyways after i went through it and got back home about 1.5 miles away i turned it off for about 10 mins and the started it back up again and it started jerking pretty bad when it was idling. I didn't know if maybe some water got on something that made it do that or what was going on with it. It has done it awhile back but corrects itself after a few mins. Even yesterday i drove it about 100 yards and it had quit. I appreciate any suggestions you guys have for me. I change the plugs and wires about 3500 miles ago, so that should be ok.

I know with my old Explorer I would get water in the plug wire boots every now and then and it would run like **** for a bit. Also make sure the plug wires are still seated firmly.

4.9 Liter, I will check that and make sure they are still in place.

The distributor sits lower on the 4.9L than on any other engine used in the F-150, so there's a better chance of it getting wet. Check for moisture inside the cap, and make sure the wires are on securely. It would also be a wise idea to put a thin layer of dieelectric grease around the inside lip of the plug wire boots.
