Towing Power???

Newbe hear,

My problem is, I went hunting last week and barley mad it up a hill pulling a 3,000lb trailer. The truck would not shift down. I have a Lift on the truck and 35" tires. Gears are 3.55. could this be the problem?
Thanks

what size engine do you have that might help narrow down the problem. Do you have a tuner maybe the shift points arent set right for towing

I see at least some 4.10's in your future.... Maybe 4.56 if you tow that load a lot.

Yep did that.

Would the gearing, still make the truck from not shifting down, going up hill?

You are way out of your torque curve and it's just gonna be sluggish. I'd think it would downshift though, but I've run sticks when goin with big tires in the past.
