Aftermarket Headunit

I'm going to put an aftermarket headunit in my '88 F-150 XLT Lariat. I have not pulled the stock radio and do not know the situation behind it.

Does this truck have the modern color-coding system for car audio?
Is there an available wiring harness and mounting kit?

Thanks.

My '88 Bronco had jacked up wiring for some reason, so I just cut back past the mess and tested for each speaker individually.

The new paperweight

Cleaned up wiring

Also I cheated on the mount by just attaching to the trim ring. Doable on the 87-91s

Funny, most expensive unit, in the cheapest beater truck.

I just went to Best Buy tonight and I plan on having them install the radio and speakers. They said they have the harness ready to go for mine.

*adrianspeeder, good taste in boots, Bates Enforcers? I wear them on duty.

I wouldn't trust Best Buy to put in a cassette player. I'm sure there are good installers at some, but mostly it's guys just like you and me that watched a video or two and ya hope they don't short out the truck.

Yup dan, I like em over my issued BDU boots.

Agreed, but the guy I use has been there for years and I work with his brother. I trust him to do it, not anyone else there.
