manual trans. leak

I have a 93 f150 5.0 4x4 5speed. I fixed the oil pan leak temporarily and noticed that the transmission is leaking pretty badly as well. The worst leak is in the front but it also has a slight leak in the rear.

Is this an expensive repair? If i wasn't comfortable removing my oil pan on the 4x4 then i'm pretty sure i'm not going to want to drop the tans out either. I keep hearing people talk about rubber plugs, i may have had something similar on my old 94 ranger when i had it. I had the trans. plugs replaced on it at about 90k miles before it ever started leaking and it was a pretty affordable fix could it be the same thing??
