Thank you guys for the advice so far, a push bar is a great idea instead of a plain old grille guard or something. I think I'll look into push bars.

I hope the clearance lights wouldn't be too hard to install, I've read about their installation before and it looks kind of sketchy for someone with my experience with trucks. How about the push bar, how does something like that install?

@inline6dude: you mean something like this?

MORE ADVICE FROM OTHER USERS WOULD STILL BE APPRECIATED!

[QUOTE=Lumadar]I say don't get any of that stuff because of the age and color combo of your truck making it look "cool" is basically impossible. no offense.

But seriously, if I had that truck I would put the money into getting it restored a little bit and a nice tune-up in the engine, maybe a nice rust-free exhaust, and a new air filter and then just drive.[QUOTE]

I agree with a little of what Lumadar said. But I would say, spend 700 on a new paint job. Then send the rest under the hood. put a 302 v8 or a 460 v8 in there.....the thing about pre-97 f-150 is that they last FOREVER if you take care of them and put the right things in them.. it's good stuff...

Ludewink? Wow, how terribly clever

And like others said, it's basically the color combo...how often do you see a custom blue and tan two tone? Not often... a few new ones with slight lifts and wheel/tire combos, but nothing awe-inspiring that I have seen.

I actually LOVE that era F150. In fact, I came VERY close to buying a 1997 (First half, not second, ie that body style and not rounded) that was an F250 longbed, white with silver two-tone placed down the middle (not the lower section). It was amazing looking...but it was just too worn down inside and under the hood. Previous owner didn't take good enough care of it...

Even though I have those on my truck, I wouldn't recommend 'plastic' for your model year as you have a window vent.

These would be better.....

Doesn't fit your your truck though, try searching web for Chrome Vent Shades.
I have seen the metal/chrome as pictured above at Advance Autoparts.

I found this push bar on AZ Trucks.

For my truck (see pic. in first post) should I go with a chrome or black one? I don't want to over-do the chrome on the truck, yet I don't want it to look mismatched (if it would.)

BTW, on that link I just posted - what does "Fits Vehicles With Bumper Trim" mean and how do I tell if I have "bumper trim"?

You have bumber trim. its that black plastic on it. notice on the last pic of urban cowboy's post there is no plastic.

And i agree. hate to burst your bubble but if your just looking for add-on body accessories, dont bother with it. be better saving your money and making it a sleeper than to waste it on that.

how about you just drive the truck and save for a newer one, they arent as expensive as you might think. but you'd be much happier later.

here's my truck, the only thing ive done is a k&n and the clear corner lights. oh and new tires but only cuz the old ones were done for but i consider that more in the maintaince field. but even in its great shape, drivability, and low miles(62,000), ive decided its not worth dumping money into on a lift and other accessories.

thats just my opinion.

Thank you utdc and mrwake!

For those of you that said "YAY" to the billet grille, what do you think of this one I found on eBay? Should I go with that one?

Looks good, but I think it would look better with thicker bars, like mine. Remember, you've got a huge grille. Try searching for a Beefy Billet grille, that's what mine was called.

@Zaairman: yeah there are so many choices too. The one on eBay is the cheapest compatible one I've found so far, I think it looks decent but I know there are more choices out there. It's kind of confusing trying to decide on a billet grille.

@Everyone else: well I got a few things ordered today..
- PA speaker that will hook up to my CB.
- Pacer Deluxe 5-piece amber roof lights.
- Stainless steel bumper guides with signal LEDs on top.
- 150db train horn kit.
