just replaced the fuel filter on 85 stock carb and as she was running to do my spot check, fuel started to come out somewhere below the carb. i am not an expert so can someone shed some light on my wonder...i checked my fliter connection and it is good, no leaks.

 

you have just discovered the problem on those carbs. The base is loose and most likely, the accelerator pump is also shot. Needs an overhaul.
