Well i havent had much problems with the truck. A little background first.

I had the fused link for the speed sensor deactivation switch (a recall im sure lots of you know about), and the clock spring replaced in my steering column a few weeks ago. The air bag light flashed on and off and my horn and cruise stopped working. So anyway had all that done but othere than that nothing has been replaced on the truck.

Earlier in the week my dash backlights and rear taillights went off. Turns out it was just a fuse and i just went ahead and replaced it. Now it blew it again tonight. I replaced the fuse and its all good now but im puzzled to why it even blew in the first place and why a second time. Any ideas to what to do? even if taking it to the dealer would help, i just dont want this to be something that keeps on blowing with no solution.

And the warehouse i work at now carries seafoam. the truck only has 61000 miles on it. The tailpipe is clean and if you give it the old swab very minimal black residue is on your finger, and i mean very minimal. Would i be wasting my time to use it?

Even at retail, Seafoam is cheap, so don't use it just because you can save a buck or two, use it because it's a good product.

Have you added anything electrical to your truck recently?

Nothing at all. The only thing besides the usual matainance(oil, oil filter, and transmission fluid, trans filter change-which was a month or more ago) was that i had the speed control deactivation fuse link done. That was a recall from last november...just getting around to it. and the clock spring in my column replaced. That was even before the transmision fluid/filter change. and those two(the speed..,and clock spring) were done by the dealer. So no mods what so ever. I have never added anything to the truck besides a k&n filter. No lights, nothing. Its just one of those things that pisses you off when it wants to show some age.

Anyways i dont like electrical stuff, scares the hell outta me. Even though i know some about it. The dealer wants 80 dollars to diagnose it and im just going to pay it. And what ever it costs to fix it. I figure the dealer knows best right? And it gives me a peace of mind instead of going to some little shop. Even though at my work i see some dealers ordering the same parts some little shops do. I want it fixed good not half-a**. Let ya know how it goes.

What specifically were you doing when the fuse blew? For example, did it blow as you were turning on the lights?

Nope just driving down the road. didnt hit a bump, nothing. Well i took it to the dealer yesterday and it turns out the dimmer switch was going bad. So i just had it replaced and seems to be good. Sorry about the late reply.
