leaking power steering fluid

my 1993 f-150, 4.9 is leaking power steering fluid. it leaks when the truck runs, but i suspect it has a leak that causes it to leak when sitting overnight. i filled the reservoir, drove it around the back of the house and parked it. the next morning it was empty. any idesa what might be leaking and what to fix it?
4 years ago i replaced the steel high pressure line.

thanks

my 94 F150 had the same problem twice now. it's your gear box. you can get a used one at the junk yard but it will probably just go out again. i got a new one and put it in myself and i have not had a problem.

You will have to slide underneath and take a look, could be a pump seal, a line or the sector shaft seal on the gear box. Theres no need to replace the whole gear box the seal is about $8 and a shop can probably install it for you for around $100. You could even install it yourself if your mechanically inclined but you would need to buy a pitman arm puller.

Stupid mechanics! If the shaft is really rusted it will just tear up the new seal but i sand them down lightly with fine grit sandpaper and i've never had one leak and i've done about a dozen of them on fords and dodges. I have air tools in my garage so i can change one out in about 10 minutes, piece of cake.
