No cruise control
I have lost use of my cruise control. It worked fine and just quit one day. I checked the fuse and it is fine. I pulled the steering wheel off and the contacts were dirty, but looked all right, this is a 88 so no clockspring. The buttons on the steering wheel fell the same as when it worked, no mushy buttons or anything. The master cylinder has been replaced. There are not any shorts as far as I can tell. Anybody got any other suggestions? I checked the search function, but there was not much there.

Took it to dealer, they first tested three sensors that need to be okay for cruise to work. One was in the shifter, one under the hood, and I think the other might be near the brake pedal ( Could be wrong on that one. )
If that didn't solve your problem, ( like me ) they then test the Computer and found that where the cruise signal came into the computer, it lost its brain or something. Had the whole computer wiped and reprogrammed, and presto, perfectly working cruise.
Just an update. Cruise has been fixed. Something I should have checked first, but overlooked. The linkage had become seperated from the throttle body. Hooked it back up and everthing works.
