Which front end?

I was looking at picking up a f-250/350 around the 87-97 vintage for a 4x4 project. Can anyone tell me what years or models came with the solid front axle instead of the independant front?

85.5-97 F350s had the Dana 60 solid axle up front with the 85.5 to 91 being kingpin which were uber strong!

The F250s usually had a leafsprung Dana 50 TTB, but some 80s trucks with the 300 and basic trim had the 44 TTB so be careful and check the axle codes.
