Burning oil and antifreeze

whats goin on everyone, i have a big problem, my 302 truck is using oil and antifreeze . i don't know whats going on here, i had to replace the lower rad hose b/c is was leaking badly last saturday.i replaced that and it's using antifreeze, i put more in, then the next day it's low again. also to top it off it's using more oil, it would be like a quart between a change, i put a quart in last week, now this week, and also little top offs..i just don't get it???? it leaks like a drop or two outta the rear main but thats it.. The oil doesn't look like chocolate milk??? I'm clueless, could the oil be leaking out of the rear main while i'm driving? But then where does the antifreeze go???i don't get it

There could have been air in the cooling system from when you changed the hose, after you drove it for a while the air worked its way out which made the coolant low. Keep an eye on it and if you keep losing coolant you will need to pressure test the cooling system.

Is there any black oily residue in your radiator overflow bottle?

Is there any milky pinkish-white residue on your dipstick?

Not likely with no cross contamination. That's why I asked about oil in the anti-freeze and vice-versa.

I'd re-bleed the cooling system, heat fluctuations like that are a classic symptom of an air bubble in the system.

I'd also check again for leaks and after that check or replace your radiator cap.
