What kind of brake fluid for 92 f150

Need to add a lil brake fluid, and I have a bottle that says it is good for all dot 3 brake systems. It also says it is for abs disc and drum. Will this be ok?

Thumbs up

Hello,
Yes, DOT 3 is what you need to use. It should say on your Master Cylinder cap. Hope that helped.

just to make sure, you say you "have a bottle"...

Is it new or something you found just lying around in the garage from god-knows-when? Brake fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it attracts and absorbs water-- so it it's something that was just around make sure it was sealed tight if you're going to use it. If you're not sure it was sealed tight I'd just get new.

If you do go buy new, don't buy anything but DOT3 or DOT3 synthetic. Nothing else is compatible.

Exactly. Brake fluid should be treated like fruit; what doesn't get used should be tossed before too long.
