I bought a K/N cone filter from my buddy for my 96. He has a 94 5.0 stang and when we did all the top end upgrades this winter his new C&L 80mm mass air kit came with it's own filter. I put the old filter on my truck today. All I had to do was remove the air box and inlet tube, mount the cone filter and adapter to my mass air meter and mount it to the existing mounts for the mass air box. I still need to make one more bracket to "sturdy it up" tommorow. It already has much better throttle response than the old weezy air box and I'm sure I'll notice a difference going over the road. It's not near any real heat sources so it can't be any worse than the old setup.

That's the stock air pipe, I guess they made it 2 into one when they switched to Mass air from speed density. It definitely has more throttle response, as for the MPG I'm running the 1st tank through it now, I'll let you know next week. It has a lot of intake noise when your at WOT, but it does pull harder. I also put in some new Autolite plugs and some FRPP 9mm plug wires this past weekend after I took a little peek and found the ignition system needed some work. I had the plug wires on the shelf for my drag car so now I need buy another set. I still need to pickup a new rotor and cap - their shot too. I'm gonna gut the converters, put on a single 3" exhaust with a flowmaster muffler, add some headers and probably swap on the set of ported E7 heads that I'll be removing next fall from my 63 Mercury.
