96 f150 4x4 trany question?
I just picked up my first ford (96 f150 5.8l 4x4 4 speed auto) and so far i'm lovin it, but,
i got it preaty cheap because of trany troubles.
heres the question: When its cold i was told i have to manualy drop it into 1st gear and shift up until the temperature gets up.(cold up here in northern canada)
what i've learned is that the truck actually isn't shiftin into 1st, its going into 2 and then drive . now if i let the truck completely warm up 10 - 15 minuites,or drive it a few miles, its seems to shift perfectly. Could the problem be vacume and have something to do with the engine temp??
