Feul Filter is confusing

I have a 93 f150 2wd w/ an inline fuel filter(located on framerail under bed), and my question is this, How do i change it?

i looked in chiltons and they said to depressurize the system and pop the clips with some special fork.

first how do i depressurize the system? and how much is a fork going to cost me?

You depressurize the system either by opening the Schrader valve on the fuel rail or by pulling the fuse to the fuel pump and trying to start the engine.

The tool is about $5 for both sizes.

I never had a problem not depressurizing the fuel lines when doin a filter, but I guess to do it the safest possible way you should. Look on one the fuel rails on the engine. All your injectors connect to it (kinda right above where the spark plugs are), there should be a schrader (tire stem) valve you can push in to free the pressure.

Any auto parts store has a ford fuel line tool.

i never deplete fuel press just hold a couple rags up to it and let the rest spill on the ground. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....re&dir=catalog or this http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....re&dir=catalog will work to remove the filter from the lines
