Question Cold air intake setup?

Does anyone have any info or pics of their cold air intake setup? I'm tryin to find a way to reduce the intake temp. that comes from the engine compartment. Maybe there's a way to rig the stock intake tubes/snorkel.
I know they have them for Mustangs, but did any company come up w/ a setup for our trucks?

Do a search for Chris (Pkrwud's) setup. I forget if anyone had pics but there is also a way to route outside air in our trucks using the stock box and the hole to the drivers side of the radiator.

Just plump a tube from the rectangular hole to the airbox if you are wanting a sealed outside air system.

do a search for the "f250 intake tube" or "460 intake tube". it does what your asking. part comes from the dealer, about $20.

250 intake tube hard to find, other alternative needed

The f250 intake tube is hard to find.

I've gone to junkyards and looked thru many trucks with no luck.

I've tried my local Ford dealer (Galpin in Los Angeles). They do not have any in stock and cannot order any. They say Ford lists the part as unavailable and obsolete.

Ford parts online lists the part as in inventory, but cancels my order because the part is not available.

I have a temporary solution using a dryer vent hose. It gives me about 1 more mpg. I will build a permanent solution with 4" garden drain pipe, when I get the time.

Has anyone thought of putting the intake thru the inner fender?

Thanks,
Lance

Then everytime you go wheeling mud and water will splash up and get into the TB. Never a good thing.

Tried it. It stayed dry enough (my truck lives on the road) but it still didn't work. The wheel well is a low pressure area so you're getting less air, not more as compared to the soda-straw sized high-pressure air opening next to the grill. Running with the open air line to the fender well cost me a full 0.1 in the 1/4 doing back to back runs with it open/closed. Not my best idea ever.

I thought about getting some header wrap and putting it on the stock intake hoses to insulate them. That's bound to help out a little.
