Oil pressure problem? won't start,

89 F150 with 302, 5 sp.
I rarely drive this truck but it seems to have some kind of Oil pressure problem.
Went on the freeway for about 30 miles yestereday and when I was driving I was hearing kind of like low end knocking noise, I was driving at 60 to 75 mph. Noise got louder at some point but I didn't care too much about it. When I got off the freeway, truck died at the stop sign and didn't start. crank over but kind of weak. waited for about 40 mins and it cranked kind of weak but started again. it had mild lowend knocking at idle, I drove it to 7-11 parking lot and left it running for a few mins, knocking got quietter and eventually went away. I have a working oil pressure gauge and also have secondary electrical oil pressure gauge installed on this truck but pressure reading is always normal, never too high or too low, it does fractuate in lower part of the gauge.
I drove it back but kept it at 60 mph, and 2100 rpm or so. I heard mild knocking sound but this time engine didn't die after I exited from freeway and made a complete stop. Is there any fix for such oil lublication problem? Thanks in advance,

How do you know it is an oil pressure problem? You mentioned your gauges always point to normal.

Well, If you didn't care if the noise got louder......then get a rebuilt engine. You have to get down to the foundation. I'm gonna spout off and say you's spun a main bearing or two. That would give you a solid low end knock. Any second motions? Or am I full of beer?

I'll second the opinion that a spun rod or main bearing is the likely reason for the knock.
